Ms. Ott teaches harp students of all ages. Beginner level harps can be quite affordable. Ms. Ott is an expert at helping the student determine their musical goals in order to assist in choosing the right harp for the student. For example, there are several excellent harp rental plans that can assist in making harp lessons a financially-friendly endeavor.
Students may start playing the harp at a very early age. It is recommended that the student have prior musical experiences in the home, such as singing, moving to music and listening to music. Your child will be more successful in harp lessons if they exhibit the following readiness skills: * They can sing simple tunes with a light singing voice. * They can keep a beat with their bodies (as simple as patting the beat downward with their hands on their legs. * They have shown the ability to concentrate on a task for 20-30 minutes. * They have expressed a repeated interest in learning an instrument.
Ms. Ott employs singing and moving in harp lessons and is an expert at developing the readiness skills so necessary for success on any musical instrument. However, learning the harp will be easier if these readiness skills are already in place, especially if the student is very young. If you are still unsure of your child's readiness for the harp, Ms. Ott will use the first lesson as exploration; the student will have the opportunity to play a harp that Ms. Ott provides, and see for themself if they enjoy the feel and the sound. The first lesson is free! If you are interested in harp lessons for yourself or for your child, please email Ms. Ott. |
